Projects
Key projects and initiatives associated with Mwatate Ward include:
1. Water Projects (Josa-Modambogho-Landi)
- Josa–Modambogho Water Project: As of November 2025, rehabilitation works were nearing completion, involving the installation of a 350 m³ steel tank, renovation of 11 distribution tanks, and laying of a new pipeline to serve areas like Landi Maili-Kumi, Mdindinyi, California, and Mgeno.
- In September 2025, there was engagements for the expansion of this project in Cheleka Village, in partnership with the County Water Department and Kenya Red Cross Society.
- There were also initiatives for the rehabilitation of the Ngiriwuni intake to further improve water access.
2. Road Infrastructure Rehabilitation
- Peleleza Feeder Roads: Maintenance works began in August 2025 to repair roads heavily damaged by rains, enhancing connectivity within the Mwatate sub-location.
- Majengo Road Network: In November 2025, rehabilitation of the Majengo road network commenced in partnership with Teita Estate Ltd, which provided machinery for the works.
