Governor Andrew Mwadime, popularly known as Wakujaa, has partnered closely with Bura Ward MCA Anthony Warighe (Patel) to implement several development projects in the ward :
Key projects and initiatives in Bura Ward under Governor Wakujaa’s leadership include:
Youth & Education
- Driving Course Program: Launched a program for 64 students from Bura and Mwakitau locations to acquire driving skills, aimed at improving their employability.
- Scholarships & Bursaries: Allocated Ksh 15 million for high school scholarships to support needy students in the ward. The county-wide bursary fund was also increased from Ksh 100 million to Ksh 200 million, providing approximately Ksh 10 million per ward, including Bura.
- Teacher Regularization: Oversaw the hiring of ECDE and Vocational Training Center (VTC) teachers on permanent and pensionable terms.
Water & Infrastructure
- Mlughi-Mkronge Community Borehole: A key project initiated to improve clean water access for residents in Bura .
Land & Community Support
- Land Titling: Launched the beaconing process at Bura Ndogo B Settlement Scheme to fast-track the issuance of title deeds, providing residents with legal ownership and security of their land.
- Grassroots Equipment: Provided tents and chairs to over 20 villages in Bura Ward to support community gatherings, public engagement, and local events .
Health & Social Services
- Medical Equipment: Introduced new ultrasound machines to local health facilities to assist in detecting risky pregnancies and reducing maternal mortality.
- Trauma & Specialized Care: Under the Taifa Care program, health facilities have been upgraded with new equipment and additional medical staff to improve emergency response.
