Key Ward Projects and Initiatives
Ward Development Fund: For the 2025/2026 financial year, Taita Taveta wards are allocated approximately Ksh 24.5 million for development projects, with residents in Rong’e specifically proposing further investments in water and road infrastructure during public participation,
Community Empowerment: In May 2024, Rong’e Ward groups received empowerment items including 150 plastic chairs and three tents for Mlambenyi and Chakaleri villages to support income-generating activities.
In Summary
Governor Wakujaa’s administration has focused on several flagship and ward-specific projects that impact the Rong’e area:
- Water Infrastructure: The administration has worked on expanding water access, including the Mbololo-Ndii-Mlilo Water Project and historical efforts to supply water to Rong’e Kati and Rong’e Chini.
- Connecting Manganga village in Mengo location with piped running water.
- Agriculture & Value Addition: Major county-wide projects including a Macadamia Processing Plant aimed to benefit farmers across all wards, including Rong’e.
