Governor Andrew Mwadime (popularly known as “Wakujaa”) and Kaloleni Ward MCA Hon. Azhar Din have collaborated on several key infrastructure and community development initiatives . 

Recent & Ongoing Projects

Sports: Sponsorship of the Kaloleni One Football Tournament to engage youth and shun drug abuse. 

Kaloleni Water Supply Project: A major initiative nearing completion to provide safe drinking water to underserved areas like Birikani, Mnaoni, Kalambe, and Gimba. The project includes the construction of a 500-cubic-meter tank in Israel Village.

Early Childhood Development (ECDE):

Gaza Model ECDE Centre: Officially launched in June 2025 to improve early learning foundations.

Birikani Primary: Construction of a new ECDE classroom.

Sanitation: Allocation of Ksh 1 Million for a modern toilet at Kalela ECDE and provision of ICT equipment and learning materials across the ward.

Infrastructure & Roads:

Mazeras Ferry Road: Block paving and improvement of town road standards.

Kasarani–Gimba Road: Ongoing road maintenance and improvement projects.

Land Adjudication: The Kaloleni Phase 1 A & B adjudication plan is underway to ensure residents receive title deeds.

Community Facilities:

Voi Town Modern Market: Continued development to support local traders.

Mwanyambo Primary: Sanitation facility improvements.

In Summary

Major development projects in Kaloleni Ward, Voi, for the 2022–2025 period focus on urban upgrading, water access, and social welfare:

Agriculture: Support for small-scale farmers includes the distribution of Galla goats and poultry to improve meat and egg production. 

Informal Settlement Upgrading (KISIP II): A major initiative to upgrade Kaloleni Phase 1A & 1B is underway. This project includes regularizing land tenure (issuing over 900 title deeds), improving drainage, and planning for better infrastructure.

Water Supply Projects: Efforts are being made to address water scarcity through the Kaloleni Water Supply Project, which is nearing completion. This project targets underserved areas including Birikani, Mnaoni, and Kalambe.

Education and Sanitation: The county has allocated funds for a new modern toilet at Kalela ECDE and provided ICT equipment and learning materials across all ward ECDE centers.

Social Welfare and Empowerment:

Distribution of equipment: Residents of Maweni and Mazeras received tents and chairs, while the Voi Angaza Group (Persons with Disabilities) was provided with a posho mill to support their livelihoods.
