Mwanda Mghange ward

Projects

Date:May,2025

Governor Andrew Mwadime, accompanied by members of his cabinet and Mwanda-Mghange Ward MCA , Hon. Anselm Mwadime Chao, launched several transformative development projects in the ward including a modern tuition block at Mwanda Vocational Training Centre (VTC) – a long-stalled project that had stalled for over six years.

This launch marked a major milestone in Governor Mwadime’s administration’s ongoing efforts to strengthen Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), equipping the youth of Taita Taveta County with practical skills for employment and entrepreneurship.

Mwanda VTC is a cornerstone of the Governor’s broader Wakujaa’s development agenda, that places human capital development at the heart of county transformation. By expanding vocational training opportunities, the county government aims to combat youth unemployment and stimulate local economic growth through skills-based empowerment. The centre is expected to serve as a vital hub for training and innovation, contributing significantly to the county’s socio-economic advancement.

In addition to the VTC launch, Governor Mwadime officially opened the Njawuli Community Hall – a critical facility that will serve as a space for civic engagement, youth programs, and community decision-making. The hall embodies the county administration’s commitment to participatory governance, improving grassroots engagement and access to public infrastructure, especially in rural areas.

The Governor also launched the Kisangarenyi Boda Boda Shed, part of the county’s continuous investment in infrastructure that supports the dynamic boda boda sector. The facility will provide a safe and sheltered space for riders and passengers, offering protection from the elements while enhancing dignity, safety, and operational efficiency.

These initiatives underscore the Governor Wakujaa’s unwavering focus on inclusive development, community empowerment, and the pursuit of sustainable growth across all corners of the county.
