Wusi Kishamba Ward, Taita Taveta County, Governor Andrew Mwadime (Wakujaa) and the local MCA, Hon. Duncan Wangama is collaborating on several infrastructure , education and social empowerment projects
Current Key Projects
- Education Infrastructure:
- Kidaya Ifumbu ECDE: Construction of a new Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) centre was handed over to a contractor in 2025 to improve local learning environments.
- St. Joseph’s Secondary School: Recently completed a new dining hall and kitchen block, which were officially handed over in early 2026.
- Roads and Infrastructure:
- Kilulunyi–Shongolonyi Road: Ongoing construction including a 56-meter continuous slab and 1-meter box culverts to improve connectivity across three villages.
- Drainage Systems: Implementation of engineered drainage to ensure the longevity of newly graded ward roads.
- Social and Economic Empowerment:
- Grants for Groups: Six community groups recently received grants totaling Ksh 1 million; specifically, the Wusi/Kishamba Widows CBO received Ksh 250,000 to support their basket-weaving value addition and market access.
- Water Access: The Governor’s office is in the final stages of projects aimed at solving long-standing water scarcity in the ward.
- Health and Youth:
- Youth Employment: Governor Mwadime and MCA Wangama have emphasized prioritizing local, unemployed youth for unskilled jobs on all ongoing ward projects.
